Established in 1983, The Wishing Star Foundation, Inc. is the oldest, local wish-granting organization in Eastern Washington and Idaho. Wishing Star grants Wishes to local children with life-threatening illnesses between the ages of 3 and 21.Wishing Star is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization. We are dependent on individual gifts, fund-raising, donations, grants and memorials. We are not funded by government or United Way. Donated Funds: 87% goes directly to Wishes, 13% goes to fundraising expenses and administration. A child does not need to be terminal to qualify. Wishing Star also grants Wishes to children in remission.
