| The Spokane Area Workforce Development Council (SAWDC) is a group of leaders from the public and private sectors who guide and oversee workforce related policies and programs in the greater Spokane area. The establishment of the Council was mandated by the Workforce Investment Act (WIA), passed by the U.S. Congress in 1998. Formerly the Spokane Area Private Industry Council (PIC), the Spokane Area Workforce Development Council (SAWDC) has developed five-year Strategic and Operational plans with the objective of improving and integrating the workforce development system in the Spokane area. |
