The Foundation holds over 200 funds established by numerous donors for the benefit of the Inland Northwest region. In 2005 the Foundation received more than $2.3 million in contributions and awarded more than $3 million in grants in its 20 county territory. Foundation Northwest held assets of approximately $41 million at June 30, 2005. Since the first grants were made in 1976, more than $27 million in philanthropic capital has been returned to Inland Northwest communities.Currently the largest philanthropic entity in the region, the Community Foundation works to increase philanthropy in its territory by helping community-minded donors achieve their philanthropic goals. By making it easy for donors to give, either directly or through planned gifts, the Foundation forges links between their personal charitable interests and the nonprofit organizations that are working to improve all our lives.
